In-Home Physical Therapy for Chronic Pain in South Jersey

You are more than your pain. Your life can be more than managing it.

Persistent pain changes how you move, sleep, and live. We take a whole-person approach, bringing one-on-one physical therapy to your home to help you understand your pain, move with more confidence, and get back to the things you've been missing.

Is this you?

  • You've been told to "just live with it"

  • You've tried pills, injections, or other therapy, and the pain keeps coming back

  • You avoid certain movements because you're afraid of making it worse

  • Pain is affecting your sleep, your mood, or your time with family

  • Car rides make your pain flare, so getting to appointments is its own ordeal

  • You're living with pain alongside other health conditions, and nobody is looking at the whole picture

Why pain therapy works better at home

  • No painful car rides. For many people, sitting in a car on the way to a clinic is enough to set off a flare before therapy even starts.

  • We fix the movements that actually hurt. Bending into your own dishwasher, getting into your own bed, lifting your own grandchild.

  • A calmer nervous system. Pain is processed by the brain, and feeling safe and relaxed in your own space can help.

  • No rushing. Persistent pain deserves time, not a 15-minute slot between other patients.

What we treat

  • Low back and neck pain that won't go away

  • Arthritis and joint pain

  • Pain that has lasted long after an injury or surgery

  • Orthopedic and sports injuries

  • Complex conditions: persistent pain mixed with other health issues, like nerve pain, fibromyalgia, or several surgeries over the years

How we help

  • Understanding your pain. Learning how pain and the nervous system connect, so pain feels less scary

  • Exercise that builds at your pace. Step by step, never "no pain, no gain"

  • Dry needling, when it fits. A thin needle helps tight, painful muscles relax (optional, private pay)

  • Strategies for flare-ups so one bad day doesn't undo your progress

Who you'll see

Your therapist is Paul Pierson, PT, DPT, who is certified in dry needling (Cert. DN) and specializes in persistent pain and orthopedic rehabilitation. Before becoming a PT, Paul worked in construction, so he knows firsthand what hard physical work and pain can do to a body. You'll see the same therapist every visit.

What to expect

  • Your first visit: We talk about your pain story: what you've tried, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to. Then we look at how you move in your own home.

  • About 60 minutes, one-on-one, every visit, with the same therapist every time.

  • Your doctor stays in the loop. They receive an evaluation summary within 48 hours.

  • A plan built around you, paced to what your body can handle, with a direct line to your therapist.

Insurance and referrals

We are in network with Medicare Part B. For other insurance, we provide a superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Dry needling is a private-pay service. New Jersey is a direct access state, so you can start physical therapy for up to 30 days without a referral. After that, we coordinate with your physician.

Do I need a referral?

Not to start. New Jersey is a direct access state, so you can see us for up to 30 days without a referral. After that, we coordinate with your physician.

How is this different from home health?

Home health is for people who are homebound. You don't have to be homebound to see us, and our visits focus entirely on your rehab goals.

What is dry needling, and does it hurt?

4

A very thin, solid needle (no medicine) is placed into a tight, painful muscle to help it relax. Most people feel a brief cramp or ache, then relief. It's always optional and only used when it fits your plan.
